Gas prices sink below $2
Friday, November 21, 2008
CNN Money -- NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- It took gas prices more than three years to rise from $2 to a record high of $4.11, but just four months to plummet all the way back again - and then some.

For the first time since March 9, 2005, the average price of gasoline fell below $2 a gallon, according to a report from motorist group AAA.

The nationwide average price dropped to $1.989 a gallon, down from $2.02 on Thursday. The survey bases its information on credit card swipes from up to 100,000 service stations across the nation.

Great that it didn't go back up for the holiday travel .But the damage is done for the most of us. I've got months of high priced gas to pay off now. And I was as frugal as I could afford to be.

It will take at least 1-2 yrs. for our pocket books to recover from the gas-spiking. It was all for the investors to make money and run!!!!! Although I am VERY HAPPY for ALL, WALK SOFTLY TO HEAR THE RUSTLING OF THE LEAVES!!!

Let's enjoy it while we can. These 'up and down' price cycles have been a part of our recent history, and will continue unless we can become less dependant on foreign fuel.

To tell the truth: I'm surprised the prices didn't level off, or even go up after the election. Does that put holes in my conspiracy theory? Maybe, but maybe not...

...three years to rise from $2 to a record high, but just four months to plummet all the way back again - and then some...
sink, sink, sink.....
Now get the cost of transportation of goods and services down, food prices down, and replace the money I lost with those higher fuel prices last summer.
lowest regular is $1.71 at an independent with Costco close behind at $1.75.....
