1- stop at out right side of the road 2- Turn flasher light on. 3- Put caution sign on 30 feet far. 4- start to do it by self. 5- repair it before going home and return spare tire back.

ə i stop as soon as is safe, turn off the engine, get the stuff out i need, and change it, often while muttering some unprintable words. the worst “flat tire” incident i had was a blowout at around 70mph on i-80 between des moines and iowa city. luckily for me, i was able to maintain control and change it with no difficulty. a pair of guys stopped to offer help just as i was finishing but they would not have ben able to get me back on the road any faster so i declined graciously. the delay cost me a game in a chess event. like most of the others have said here, prevention is the best policy. check your tires now and then for wear and underinflation. you won't be able to avoid every hazard on the road, but at lesat try to miss as many as you can. finaly, if you are female and can't manage changing a tire (most women can actually do so if they can get the old tire off the axle), be sure to have an emergency roadside assistance plan in order to get the work done. ə

Stop the car. I've pretty much found that if you want to change or repair a flat you're better off stopping the car. It's really difficult trying to jack the car, loosen the bolts, and removing the tire without stopping first.

What did I do first?
I carefully pulled over to the side of the road to see what other damage was done, if any.

Had another flat. Slow leak caused by thrown belt and stee; coming through treads. Fill it up with portable compressor first. Small donut spare.

If we ever have another tire related survey on here, I'd like to see how many people have full size spares versus those mini donuts that I see on so many cars these days. Run flats and temporary fix kits are now popular replacements for spares, too.
I absolutely refuse to buy a car that doesn't come with a full size spare or a fix kit.

I noticed my flat when I got back to my house (I was on a short, local trip). I switched it out for the spare and then went to the tires place to get the flat fixed. I'm surprised none of the options involve the spare tire... really? That's why they exist.

I forgot to mention pulling over in a safe place may save your life. I know two people who pulled over onto the shoulder and were rammed. They were dead before the ambulance arrived.
